PRH and WSU will open a family medicine residency center

Pullman Regional Hospital and Washington State University will hold a ceremony to celebrate their combined efforts in developing the family medicine residency program.

The hospital and WSU invite members of the community to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony and facility tours at 4 p.m. today on the ground floor of the facility at 835 SE Bishop Blvd. , to Pullman. The event will be the hospital’s first open house since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a press release from PRH.

This program has been in the works for over a year and gained accreditation in May 2021, according to previous reports from the Daily News. The center will provide resident physicians with clinical space to learn and practice patient care, according to the statement. Medical residents are medical professionals who have graduated from medical school and are continuing their education to complete their training and choose a specialty, the statement said.
