Sometimes in life, it takes a wake up call for some of us to get our sense of humor back. We are too serious and sometimes even grumpy.
“A happy heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22)
God gave us a clue about how joy can affect our bodies when he added today’s Bible verse.
God said a happy or joyful heart works like medicine!
We can’t afford to be too serious. If we don’t have a sense of humor, we need to develop one because we will need as much joy as possible to get through and live with all of life’s situations.
Being able to laugh and shed light on certain life situations will help us in the healing process.
The Bible speaks of joy as a prescription for our body and one of the active ingredients of our success.
Joy is not a filler emotion or an optional fruit of the Spirit that we can experience without it in our lives.
If we want to live well, we must tap into the joy of God within us and take a dose of joy whether we feel happy or sad. It is a way for God’s healing power to flow through our body and become our strength in every situation we face.
When we listen to God and choose his words, his power within us is released to flow and heal. It has the opposite effect when we listen to the enemy and choose his deceptive words; we stop the flow of healing and empower something the enemy has said, which is dangerous.
Some things aren’t funny, and when our joy is at stake, it can be hard not to feel anxiety, fear and stress; this is why we must pray and receive the supernatural joy of God.
Where does your joy in your life come from?
“Heavenly Father, you said that a happy heart feels good like medicine. I want that happy heart to radiate from the depths of my being. To love you is to allow you to do the work in my life. May Your love and a joyful heart flow from me and all of Your Holy Spirit living within me. In the name of Jesus, Amen.”
