Valeo shines the spotlight on the mental health of seniors

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Mental health is important for everyone, no matter what your age.

This is why Valeo Santé Comportementale targets seniors in the Topeka region. They offer free mental health screenings at several area senior centers.

Kathy Votaw of LULAC Senior Center visited Eye on NE Kansas with insight into why older adults may be at risk for mental health issues, such as depression.

Valeo conducts free mental health assessments at LULAC, 1502 NE Seward Ave., every Monday in September as part of Suicide Prevention Month. The next sessions will be from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 19 and 26.

Valeo will be back at LULAC from 10am-12pm Oct. 4-7 for Mental Health Awareness Week.
