CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The Cedar Rapids Community School District announced that Superintendent Noreen Bush will take sick leave on September 19. She will continue to perform her duties as Superintendent during this period.

Dear Community of Cedar Rapids,

The Cedar Rapids Community School District (CRCSD) shares with you that Superintendent Noreen Bush will begin Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) effective Monday, September 19, 2022. She will retain her title as Superintendent throughout her leave. of illness.

Superintendent Bush went on a 2.5 year cancer journey while serving steadfastly as Superintendent of CRCSD. The current part of her journey has her taking sick leave at this time.

“Noreen has established a theme of love and care for our district to begin this school year,” said council chairman David Tominsky. “And we, as a school district and the wider community, fully support her with all of our love and care as she takes this important time to focus on her cancer journey.”
