Mental health resource center for parents and students opens in Orchard Park

ORCHARD PARK, NY – A new mental health support center is now open in Orchard Park.
It’s called the Family Solutions Center and aims to help families in the community with school-aged children with counseling, parenting classes and resources to deal with mental health issues.

“Our goal will be to help parents educate their children in the best way they choose, to give them the tools they need, whether it’s helping with communication, behavior management , to partnering with the school district, whatever the family deems important. Being a successful family is our goal,” said Katie Connelly, Coordinator of the Family Solutions Center.

The Orchard Park Central School District and the city have come together to make this center a reality.

“The opening of our Family Solutions Center would not be possible without the support of the City of Orchard Park. We are very grateful to Eugene Majchrzak, City Supervisor, and Sue Hemingway, Community Activity Center Coordinator for their collaboration,” said Lisa Krueger, Ed.D. “Together, we help families in our community.”

“We understand that the family is the most important aspect in child development and by helping families improve communication, conflict resolution and reduce stress in family functioning, this will have an impact positive on a child’s overall educational journey, social and emotional development,” Connelly said.

It is located on California Road in Orchard Park and will begin serving families in the community on Monday, September 19.
