Davenport Community Schools continue to have internet outages

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – Community schools in Davenport were without internet until Tuesday morning due to what the district calls “server issues.”

District spokesman Mike Vondran confirmed to TV6 that the outages were due to server issues and that a team of specialists are in town to continue working to resolve the issue.

Vondran said they expect the whole issue to be resolved by Tuesday morning, but as of Tuesday afternoon, all schools are still without email or phone. Internet is operational again. There is no timeline for when this issue will be resolved.

Faculty members were instructed to change all passwords on Monday.

Asked about a potential cyberattack or ransomware attack like the ones in the Cedar Rapids area, Vondran responded by saying that to his knowledge, that’s not the issue here.

At 3:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, the district confirmed that all email and internet systems were fully operational.

TV6 will have continuous coverage of the outage and will provide updates as they become available in the district.
