Plan ahead and expect delays: road closures and traffic changes around Ann Arbor

Please be aware of upcoming and ongoing road closures and traffic changes around Ann Arbor. Plan ahead and expect delays and alert patients if they will be traveling in the area.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Effective today, a lane closure is scheduled on South Maple Road southbound between Pauline Boulevard and Scio Church Road.
    • Southbound traffic will be moved to the left turn lane through the work zone.
    • Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on the east side of South Maple Road.
    • The project is expected to be completed by Friday, September 1. 30.
  • Effective today, one lane is expected to be closed on eastbound East Ellsworth Road between Shadowood Drive and Johnathan Drive.
    • Eastbound traffic will be moved to the turning lane east of Shadowood Drive.
    • Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on the north side of East Ellsworth Road.
    • Work should be completed by Saturday, October 11. 15.
  • As of Wednesday Sept. 14, the westbound lane on West Madison Street between South Ashley Street and South Main Street is expected to be closed.
    • Westbound traffic from West Madison will be moved to the left turn lane at the South Main Street intersection.
    • Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on the north side of West Madison Street.
    • The project is expected to be completed on Tuesday, February 2. 28, 2023.
  • The intersection of Miller Avenue and First Street is expected to experience lane closures between Thursday, September 1. 15 and Friday Oct. 14.
    • From 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 9. 15 Miller Avenue eastbound and First Street southbound at the Miller and First intersection will be closed to vehicular traffic.
      • Vehicles traveling southbound on First Street (via Kingsley) will be diverted south on Ashley Street and west on Ann Street back to First.
      • Vehicles traveling eastbound on Miller Avenue will be detoured south on Seventh Street and east on Huron Street to join the detour already in place for Miller/Catherine.
      • Local businesses will remain open and accessible and pedestrian traffic will be maintained on one side of the street at all times.
