Kazakhstan becomes an observer member of the International Committee of Military Medicine

NUR-SULTAN — Kazakhstan has become an observer member of the International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM), reported September 1. 9 Press Service of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Created in 1921, the CIMM brings together more than 100 States. Its mission is to improve the exchange of future directions, scientific knowledge and past experience between military medical services and to foster cooperation between military medicine and international health organizations.

Kazakhstan’s candidacy was welcomed by the member states of the organization during its congress held in Brussels between September 1, 2009. 5 and 9.

In his welcoming speech, the president of the 44th ICMM World Congress, David J. Smith, said that the country’s military medical service can contribute to international cooperation in the field of military medicine.

It is also reported that the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan have a multi-level medical care system, which guarantees the realization of the rights of servicemen to protect their health and to receive quality medical care. Military medicine in Kazakhstan is represented by 20 military medical institutions and more than 130 medical units.
