QUINCY (WGEM) – Your children have the chance to work on their behavioral skills, again, this summer and throughout the year.
After a hiatus during the pandemic, SIU Medicine is now offering its weekly behavioral health groups to K-12 students.
Deandra Rangel, a licensed clinical social worker, said therapists lead groups that focus on coping skills, conflict resolution, and more.
“It’s really just kind of a connection with kids in their age group, especially due to a pandemic when everyone’s been really shut down for a long time and we really haven’t had those interactions” , said Rangel.
Rangel said parents can call to enroll their children, or doctors and counselors can refer them. They do not have to be SIU patients.
